OPC 53 sets faster and stronger than OPC 43, which matters for slabs and load-bearing members. For plaster and masonry it is usually unnecessary and can crack.
PSC and PPC both resist sulphates better than plain OPC — worth asking for where groundwater is a problem.
The grade is printed on the bag alongside the IS number. Check it rather than trusting the colour of the packaging.
